A quick update for the new season. The calendar has a new default layout, forthcoming events in a list rather than as a calendar-style table - but you can switch views if you wish. There’s a new restricted area holding information for current members. Finally, we have a new “web shop” with many big names, replacing our previous links solely to Amazon.
There are a large number of updates to the site. The opening page of the site now contains current information: the calendar, and details of our next concert.
In addition, there’s a new page about our 75th Anniversary Concert, which includes some videos of the rehearsal.
Ian Hooker’s biography has been updated. The Members’ page includes a downloadable version of the Member’s card, should you wish to print your own. Finally, there’s a reproduction of the review of our most recent concert: Bach’s St Matthew Passion.
The whole of the Amersham and Chesham Bois web site has been renewed! We have a new webmaster, a new look and feel, and a newly updated web setup (we have had intermittent access problems to the old site which should now have been resolved.
You’ll find a lot of the content from the old site here; over time we plan to refresh this with new a relevant information which is of use to our members and our audience. What’s new already is our Photo Gallery which currently contains pictures from the St Matthew Passion concert in December 2005.
Have a look at our new Calendar (update - now on the home page), which provides a neat way to find out what’s on. It’s provided by Google, and has loads of useful facilities, not least being able to link to whatever calendar system you already use (so log as it supports iCal - most do). This means you can “subscribe” to the calendar, and have all the rehearsals and event appear in your own calendar, automatically. All the entries have links to Google maps, too, so you can see a map or a satellite picture of the venue.
